6 months...

Sophie is 6 months and I love this age. We get to cuddle and she sits up and we get to eat more foods together although I like a bit more seasoning in mine. ;) She has lost some weight from her appointments she had last month when she was sick. Our pediatrician said it's probably because I quit breastfeeding and of course, that makes me feel like a horrible mother. She weighed in at 18 lbs 3 oz and measured 26 3/4" last Friday at her well visit. I put her directly in the stroller now with now carrier and she's pretty much outgrown her swing and boppy bouncer even though we still use them.
Jayden got his first report card for 1st grade and made all As and 2 Bs. I congratulated him and am hoping for all As next time. I think we have learned this teacher's style and have made great progress on our studying skills for the Friday spelling tests. He is also doing great with soccer and really enjoying his games when they're not being cancelled due to the crazy Texas weather.

5 Months

Our big girl had the luxury of wearing 12-18 months jeans this past weekend. She's really stretching out making her look less chubby. We love our li'l chunker so very much! I am desperately trying to wean her from nursing so i can start my diamox to relive the intracranial pressure I have. I was diagnosed with pseudotumro cerebri so I really need to start working on my health issues for both Sophie and me. Hopefully by the end of this month, I will have really slowed milk production down and it will be less painful to quit. I tried it cold turkey earlier this week but it was no fun for either of us.
We also started Sophie on cereal last week and she has been doing really well with her 'dinner'. We'll probably start her with 2 feedings of cereal a day next week or so.

4 month appt

Sophie had her 4 month well-baby checkup Friday afternoon. Here are her stats - 15.4 lbs and 26 3/4 inches tall. She is still in the 90% for her weight and over 95% for her height. She's doing all of the things she should be and more.

At four months old, babies usually range from 23 inches long and 11 pounds (10th percentile) to 25.5 inches long and 15.75 pounds (90th percentile).

Your baby may be able to play alone with her toys for up to 15 minutes. The ability to entertain herself for longer and longer periods is a big milestone - and one for which you'll no doubt rejoice! You'll also begin hearing her happily cooing away with different toys in an attempt to copy the voice inflection and rhythm that she hears from you and others. Sometimes your baby may hold a sound while running it through an array of different pitches and volumes.

4 months old and updates

Sophie is 4 months old today! Yay! She has her appointment tomorrow afternoon and we cannot wait to find out how big she is getting. Jayden will start school in less than a week and a half and also he'll be turning 6! My kids are getting too big too soon.
Everything is headed to Sophie's mouth now. She's been squealing like crazy every day for weeks now too. It's so cute! Enjoy some new pics and Sophie's crazy faces..

3 month portraits

Sophie and I met up with Monica from Darkillumination Photography last week for her 3month portraits. I am in love with them. I stare at them all daylong. I have added them to my facebook, myspace and message boards I frequent when I realized I have yet to post them on my much neglected blog. I wish this blog would just update itself sometimes. ;) hehe So here are some fabulous pictures of our beautiful princess and a link to see the entire album. Sophie has a million and one facial expressions and here are just a few of them...

Sophie laughing

You can't see her very well because the living room light was off but she sounds so cute, I can't stand it! I love her too much. =) http://s34.photobucket.com/albums/d150/Ludenbelle/Baby%20Sophie/3rd%20month/?action=view¤t=P1020427.flv

Updates Anyone

Geez...I am bad about this whole blog thing. So Sophie is a big, big girl! At her 2 month appointment she weighted in at 12 lbs, 12 oz and she was 24 inches long. She's my li'l chunker and I couldn't be happier with that since she's still breastfeeding. I'd say she has breastmilk around 90-95% of the time and every once in a while she has a bottle of formula. She's still smiling, giggling, cooing/talking and now screeching all of the time and she even holds her head up by herself the majority of the time. She's so strong. We as a family have passed some type of cold around to each other and unfortunately Sophie was congested from it as well. But other than that, everything has been perfect. So here are some pics and hopefully I can even upload a video or two.

Field Day

Jayden's school had Field Day on Thursday and I promised him Sophie and I would attend. So we dropped Jayden off to school for the first time since Sophie arrived and then I fed her out in the car until Field Day began. Luckily she was happy with her quick feeding and slept right through the entire 2 hour Field Day so I could watch Jay and take pictures. What a good li'l sister she is!

Smiley Bear

I have to return to work in exactly 1 week and it breaks my heart every time I think about it, but especially when our li'l sweetie has been smiling up a storm every single day for weeks now. I know daddy will have so much fun with her when he stays home next week.
We took her for her first walk in the park this past weekend and the weather was perfect. She slept for the 2nd half of the walk.
I like to keep her in her diaper alone but daddy is always dressing her up so he gets annoyed that I don't put her in cute little outfits all day long.
