38 weeks

Full term baby! Let's get this party started.

I am just now getting better from being sick. My throat no longer feels like it's bleeding or on fire which is great, but I am still somewhat congested. Oh well, at least I am on the way to feeling 100%.

you're 38 weeks pregnant!

Don't panic if you feel electric buzzes down your legs and inside your vagina. Baby has simply stumbled on yet another way to grab your attention -- this time, he's bumping against nerves in your pelvis.

Baby's now the size of a watermelon! The last bits of vernix caseosa (the white goo keeping baby's skin moist) and lanugo (downy hair) are slowly shedding into your amniotic fluid. Baby's head is about the same circumference as her abdomen, and her head could be covered in an inch or so of hair.

37 weeks

37 WEEKS...WOO HOO!!! I am very happy to have made it this far, but honestly Baby Sophie, I am done. Please make your appearance sooner rather than later. My immune system has crashed on me. I caught some stomach bug a week and a half ago that was torture. Then my son had strep throat and apparently, I have had that now since last Thursday with no signs of relief thus far. I am done, done, done with being sick. My next appointment is tomorrow morning and I am going weekly after that. Hopefully there will be some signs of encouragement that I will be having this baby sooner than later.

I didn't take any pics of myself this weekend as I haven't been feeling up to par. And I managed to get burnt yesterday. So here's one I took with my phone for my nesties on Friday.

you're 37 weeks pregnant!

Today brings two beautiful words: full-term. Now, whenever baby's born, he's likely to thrive. Also thriving? Your nesting instincts, which are behind those sudden urges to bake, clean, or embroider a onesie. (Feminists, take your issue up with nature, not with us.)

Baby's now the size of a watermelon!Your full-term (yay!) baby is gaining about 1/2 ounce a day and getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready. He's also brushing up on skills for the outside world: blinking, sucking, inhaling, exhaling, and gripping (it's getting strong!).

36 Weeks & Showers

Yay! I am 36 weeks along and completely mentally and physically ready for Sophie to show up whenever she is ready. Of course, I hope she doesn't try to stay in there too far past her expected date. This past weekend was great! My work threw me a baby shower on Friday afternoon and my sister in law, Amanda, threw me a shower at her house on Saturday afternoon. Here are some pictures from both showers. And Jessica will be induced this coming Friday so we took a 'bump off' picture to compare our baby bumps. I guess my Sophie is living the posh life in her giant condo!
We have every single thing we need and lots of cute things to fill the 'wants' list as well. ;)
