33 Weeks

You're 33 weeks pregnant!
You are one hot mama -- literally. A 20 percent metabolic rate increase throughout pregnancy can leave you begging for a cool breeze no matter what the weather is like. Distract yourself with an exercise in blind identification. Try to distinguish between baby's feet, fists, knees, and elbows -- all doing some major pushing and nudging inside of you.

Weeks 33-36 (Month 8): Honeydew
Baby’s senses are continuing to improve -- when light peeks in through your (extremely) stretched belly, those tiny eyelids and irises blink and dilate. And, baby can now recognize and react to simple songs… time to start practicing your lullabies! Growth (at least inside your womb) is starting to slow, and you may notice baby descend into your pelvis at the end of this month.

I am going to the doctor every 2 weeks now and had an appointment this morning. I am measuring consistently 2 weeks ahead so I am measuring 35 right now. My OB said as long I stay consistent, he won't worry about it. And my cervix is still closed so it looks like I will ~hopefully~ be making it through this pregnancy without having a cerclage stitch as I only have 4 weeks left until they would have it removed anyhow.
Jayden, the kitties and I stayed home Saturday night celebrating my 29th birthday with some soda and O'Douls while Nathan headed to my twin brother's for his keg party. Holidays and birthdays are almost too exciting during pregnancy. lol But I am glad I had my baby boy to spend it with even though he was bummed I didn't have a 'birthday party' anywhere. He hasn't grasped the concept that I won't have an actual party like he does.
I didn't take a new picture this weekend so I'll share the one I took on Friday afternoon at work.

Newborn picture sites

So this post is really more of a journal like entry for myself so I can find local photographers that I have fallen in love with their work. There are a few local ones that I love, but am not loving the price so am still in debate with myself on whether we will spend the money on newborn portraits or just take some myself.
If you have a moment, check out this blog link to a newborn related to the photographer. I am absolutely in love with these pictures.

3D/4D Sono

We went this morning for the 3D/4D sono that we set up last minute thanks to Leah's post about it and recommendation. She wasn't too cooperative and kept hiding behind her arms and hands, but we did get some decent pictures and I love the video because we can see her facial emotions changing. She's a li'l stinker, that's for sure. I don't recognize the video format they used so I haven't uploaded it to a webhost yet.

On another great note, almost all of Sophie's furniture has arrived and Nathan is almost done putting it all together after much frustration and cursing. So hopefully I will take pictures of most of it put together later on this week.

Getting ready for the baby

So, I ordered quite a few things for the baby, baby's room, etc. last week and they are all starting to arrive. I received my new Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag yesterday and am VERY pleased with how cute it is. I was hesitant to spend that kind of money but they come highly recommended and Miranda filled me in on their Outlet site so I got a great deal. Next up is Sophie's baby bedding. I ordered it from JCP.com and it is the Elephant Stitches in pink/brown by Carters. I have a hard time buying pink things as I am not a fan of anything in the red family, but I absolutely fell in love with this bedding and made it a must have. I only ordered the bedding and mobile, but I may purchase the accessories later on. It should be arriving up at my office sometime this afternoon...hopefully. And then we ordered our crib, dresser, mattress, swing and glider and ottoman online through Walmart.com. I believe all of those pieces should be arriving to our local Walmart for pick up by this weekend or mid-week next week. So we will be busy reorganizing the 3rd bedroom getting ready to make it a nursery. Yay!

30 weeks pregnant

You're 30 weeks pregnant!
Your massive belly and nighttime heartburn might be making sleep difficult to come by. If you are able to drift off, you're probably having some strange and vivid dreams -- your subconscious is no less anxious than your waking mind

Weeks 29-32 (Month 7): Squash
Baby’s energy is surging, thanks to the formation of white fat deposits beneath the skin. (Have those kicks and jabs to the ribs tipped you off yet?) Baby is also settling into sleep and waking cycles, though -- as you’ve also probably noticed -- they don’t necessarily coincide with your own. Also this month, all five senses are finally functional, and the brain and nervous system are going through major developments.

Besides the frequent comments about how I look like I am about to pop or am I sure there is only 1 in there, I am feeling pretty good. I mean, I know I am a brick house, but I was already large to begin with and I quit smoking when I became pregnant which tends to pack on the pounds as well. I am just getting so anxious for the months, weeks and even days to pass by that get me closer to seeing our sweet baby, Sophie.

AND Yes, I know I need to figure out this font issue and change the color so you can actually read my posts. ;)
